Ground Improvement designs and specifications:
Good design is essential to make the most of ground characteristics which are frequently less than ideal. Working in conjunction with specialist ground improvement contractors, we are able to design, supervise and verify ground treatment methodologies, using a range of stabilisation techniques including lime, cement, vibro- replacement, and dynamic compaction.
In this way we can obtain the optimum earthwork and foundation solutions, reduce to a minimum the removal of poor soils from site and by doing so achieve significant cost savings.
Slope stability studies:
Eaton Geotechnics Ltd has extensive experience of slope assessment, design and construction both from the ground up and when rectification is required.
We utilise the natural ground characteristics together with modern geo-textiles and reinforcement fabrics to design and produce cost effective slope solutions which provide effective and visually pleasing end products.
For weak or unstable slopes we combine a comprehensive and well designed investigation together with assessment and monitoring to produce stable designs which will guarantee a long term solution.
Earth Retaining structures:
We are able to utilise our knowledge and expertise in the design of modern earth retaining structures and successfully combine this with the effective use of soil properties. By doing this we can maximise efficient design and therefore provide our clients with a range of cost effective and suitable options to match specific site conditions.
Where concrete or steel retained structures are proposed we work in conjunction with structural engineers to utilise the local soil parameters to achieve an optimum design.
Geo-Textiles and Geo-Membranes:
Our extensive knowledge of the range and application of geo-textiles and membranes allows us to advise clients on the most cost effective and appropriate use of these materials.
Whether for use in earthworks, structures, roads, drainage or slopes we can suggest designs tailored to specific ground conditions rather than generic solutions.
Conceptual site Models:
We utilise information obtained from desk studies, such as site soil and ground water profile data in order to construct accurate conceptual models for each site. From this we can then design accurate ground models to facilitate site remediation and engineering ground solutions appropriate to the development.
Geotechnical Design Advice:
Through appropriate and well planned ground investigation, sampling and analysis we are able to provide significant design input to many geotechnical processes, such as piling, vibro-replacement, dynamic compaction, soil nailing, use of rock anchors etc. Many members of our technical staff have firsthand experience of working for specialist contracting companies and therefore have a good understanding of both the capabilities and limitations of these geotechnical processes.
